Grace was raised by her blind mother in White Plains, NY. Her father George, a chronic gambler, subjected her to frequent beatings. Grace's mother urged her ask for Jesus' protection at age five.

Besides her Mother, there were two women who influenced young Grace's life:
her beautiful Aunt Grace and Grace's Grandmother. The Grandmother became
a Greek Orthodox nun and built a church. Grace was accustom to attending
the Catholic Church with her Mother, and also Greek Orthodox services.
Aunt Grace owned and managed her own beauty salon.
This influenced Grace to attend beauty school. Grace was and remains

Grace began actively singing in churches in the mid 1970's.While singing at a church
service Grace felt moved by the Holy Spirit to tell a man bound to a wheelchair to               baby Grace
come forward. Within moments he could walk. Over the years thousands of reported
healings have taken place through Grace's prayers.

So many  people claimed to receive healings and other
blessings as she sang hymns and gospel music,                                                                           Aunt Grace
that she was flooded with prayer requests.

and personal testimonies documented
thousands of healings.

to attended a Grace was holding a service in the county's largest
civic auditorium, the 5,000 seat, Westchester County Center.
What happened to him that night became the subject of

and her Father's acceptance of the Lord.
It was originally published by Dodd Mead of New York. Grace and her Father were                              reunited and stayed friends until is passing.

Mayor Boughton Honors Grace James
with Surprise Proclamation and Key To The City!

Danbury, CT- Several hundred friends and supports were gathered for Gospel Singing Evangelist Grace James' birthday party at the Danbury Sheraton Hotel Thursday evening with Danbury's Mayor suddenly showed up.
It was Grace James' yearly birthday party and many who have worked with her during her 29 years of ministry were gathered there. The Mayor's presence was a surprise, but everyone was taken aback when he presented Grace with a proclamation detailing her many benevolent works. This included her successful efforts in the 1970s to bring some form of prayer back to Danbury's schools. It was the Mayor's father, then also Mayor of Danbury, who worked with her on that project.
This honor was topped by another presentation: "A proclamation isn't enough for Grace," said Mayor Boughton, "I have here the Key To The City." The crowd was floored and silence did indeed fill the room as Grace received that additional honor.

Pastor Larry James, M. Div., Grace's husband, is the President of
Grace 'N Vessels of Christ Ministries.
He's worked in theater, film, television, radio and even grocery stores!
He writes many of Grace songs, produces much of her recorded material.
He has served on the board of three national religious organizations.
He is the Pastor/Teacher of Grace Faith Assembly.
He has taught Bible Study and lead music ministry in Grace 'N Vessels for 27 years.
Pastor Larry is Co-founder, Dean of Education, and President of Northeast Bible Institute.
He has numerous other accomplishments and piles of awards.
He also has three degrees; including a Master of Divinity.
It was Pastor Larry who authored the most widely used definition of the term Interdenominationalism
used in church bi-laws throughout the world.
Pastor Larry is not a "preacher." He wants congregants to think for themselves. He desires that people find real answers to the issues of life from God's word.

Larry James: he is famous for having a house full of books! He loves old TV -mostly
classic western TV and movies. He credits the influence of TV heroes such as The Lone Ranger, Superman, The Rifleman and others for planting deep roots of faith and fairness in him.
Larry James has collected and repaired classic toys of the 1950s. He enjoys listening to old time radio shows. Like millions of other boys, grew up with the Beatles and listening to AM radio.  That inspired him to pick up the guitar.
He began reading the bible at age 16 and was motivated to "tell God that Jesus was my savior" when watching an Oral Roberts
TV broadcast on a Sunday morning.  He met Grace in early 1981. His migraine headaches ceased after she prayed for him-that was one of many answers to prayer that he's been blessed with.

Larry created this web site as a tribute to Grace, his wife. As content was added,
it became obvious that this site should replace the one that was used at that time.
Thus, this site began with the title "Grace Tribute." Although Larry James is certain that Grace is just about the most wonderful person to ever grace this earth!
